Choosing fabric at your own window
There's no walk-in counter here, so the fabric books travel instead. Someone brings the range to your home or office on the free measuring visit, and you choose against your own walls, floor and light.
That's the more useful way round. A colour that looks warm under artificial light often reads grey against a Dubai afternoon, and holding the cloth up at the window settles it in seconds.
Nothing is cut or drilled before the measurements and the price are agreed.

A motorised track runs on a separate motor system, and which one is in your ceiling decides how it pairs, what it's controlled from, and who can service it later. These are the systems we install.

What's above the glass decides the job
Towers here are usually built with a curtain pocket above the window, which is what a track is for. Villas more often take a pole. Either way the fixing has to reach something solid — a gypsum bulkhead needs an anchor that finds the framing behind it, and concrete needs a different anchor again.
Get that wrong and a heavy lined pair pulls the track out of the ceiling within a year. It gets worked out on the measuring visit, not on installation day with your ceiling already drilled.
West-facing glass is the other thing worth saying plainly. From mid-afternoon it carries real heat and glare, which is why a sheer in front of a blackout is the ordinary arrangement here rather than a luxury.
Materials, up close
Most of the decision comes down to weave, weight, and what holds the curtain up. Room photographs flatten those differences.
Linen
An open, slubbed weave that hangs soft rather than sharp. It takes up moisture, so a linen drop settles a little in its first weeks.
Eyelet headings
Metal rings running straight on the pole. The folds stay even down the drop and the curtain pulls with one hand.
Tracks and poles
A pole is a piece of furniture in the room; a track disappears into the recess above the glass. What's up there decides which you can have.
Wooden slats
Warm to look at, and they tilt to cut glare without closing the room off. Real wood prefers rooms that stay dry.
Aluminium venetians
Thin slats that take heat and damp without complaint, which is why they end up in kitchens and bathrooms more than living rooms.

Do you have a showroom I can visit?

Why do windows here usually have two layers?
A sheer on its own softens the glare and keeps some privacy during the day. After dark that reverses — once your lights are on inside, a sheer gives you almost none. So the usual arrangement is a sheer against the glass for daytime and a heavier curtain in front of it for night, heat and sleep.
Dust is the second argument for two layers. The sheer catches most of it, and a sheer comes down and washes far more easily than a lined pair.
Will blackout curtains actually make a room dark?
Only if they're fitted to. Blackout fabric with light leaking around it isn't a blackout — the light comes in at the sides and over the top, not through the cloth. The track has to run wider than the glass so the curtains overlap the frame, and the drop has to finish well below the sill.
On an east-facing bedroom window that detail is the whole point. It decides whether you sleep past sunrise.
What decides the price of made-to-measure curtains?
Four things, roughly in that order: the finished width and drop, how much fullness you want in the folds, whether there's a lining behind the fabric, and what the curtain hangs from. Fullness is the one people don't expect — a curtain gathered to twice its track width uses twice the cloth.
It's also why two quotes for the same window can come back nowhere near each other. Worth checking what fullness each one assumes before you compare them.
Can curtains be fitted in a rented apartment?
Usually — the real question is how many holes you'll be explaining at the end of the tenancy. An existing ceiling curtain pocket adds none, because the track fixes up inside it. On some window frames a clamp-fitted blind adds none either.
Where drilling is the only option, it's worth clearing it with the landlord first. We'll tell you which of those applies at your window on the measuring visit.
Do you repair and alter curtains, or only make new ones?
Both. Alterations, repairs, cleaning and track fitting are all part of what we do, including on curtains that came from somewhere else. The jobs that come up most are a drop that's wrong after new flooring went in, a track that has pulled out of a gypsum ceiling, and curtains that need taking down, cleaning and rehanging.
