Bedroom curtains in Dubai, made to hold the light out
A bedroom curtain has one job the others don't — hold the light out at the hour you're still asleep. Most of that comes down to how it's fitted rather than which fabric you pick.
We make them to your window's own measurements and fit them ourselves. The fabric range comes to you on the free measuring visit, so you choose a colour against your own light.

Someone comes to the room with the fabric range, measures the track and the drop, and checks what the ceiling above the window will take.
Made to your window
Curtains are cut and sewn by us, so an alteration or a repair later comes back to the people who made them.
Light stopped at the edges
Blackout fabric only darkens a room if the track runs past the frame and the drop finishes below the sill. That gets settled before anything is cut.
What actually makes a bedroom dark
Not the fabric on its own. Blackout cloth stops light coming through the weave, but light gets into a bedroom around the curtain — over the top, down the sides, under the hem — and a heavy pair hung tight to the frame will still leave a bright outline at sunrise.
So the track wants to run wider than the glass, far enough each side that the closed curtains sit against the wall rather than stopping at the reveal. The drop wants to finish below the sill, or at the floor. Where the two curtains meet in the middle, an overlap arm on the track closes the last gap.
On an east-facing window that detail is the whole job. It decides whether you sleep past first light.

Two layers, and what goes in each
A sheer against the glass takes the hard edge off daylight and keeps some privacy while the sun is up. A heavier curtain in front of it handles heat, night and sleep. After dark that reverses — once the lights are on inside, a sheer on its own gives you almost nothing — which is why the two-layer arrangement is ordinary here rather than a luxury.
The heavier layer can be a blackout fabric, or an ordinary cloth with a blackout lining behind it. Lining also gives the curtain weight, and weight is what makes it hang in even folds instead of lifting every time the air conditioning comes on.
Linen and cotton both suit a bedroom. Linen hangs soft rather than sharp and takes up moisture, so a new drop settles a little in its first weeks; cotton holds a crisper fold. Silk is the most delicate of the three and wants a lining between it and the sun.

Track, pole, or the pocket that's already there
Apartments here are usually built with a curtain pocket above the window, and a track fixes up inside it — nothing visible, and in a rented flat, no holes to explain at the end of the tenancy. Villas more often take a pole.
Either way the fixing has to reach something solid. A gypsum bulkhead needs an anchor that finds the framing behind it; concrete needs a different anchor again. A heavy lined pair on the wrong fixing pulls out of the ceiling inside a year.
Motorized tracks are worth asking about in a bedroom, where the pull ends up on the far side of the bed. And if the curtains you already have are close but not right, we alter, repair and clean as well as make new ones.
